We are so excited to kick off the 2018-19 school year and see everyone’s smiling faces back on our brand new campus! We feel truly blessed by all of the physical, technological, and curriculum updates made possible by the Shea Foundation, Ahmanson Foundation, and the Smet Foundation. We would also like to give a special thank you to all parents, family members, and community members who helped build new furniture and move into the building once construction was completed. Included in the changes we have seen on campus are:
- New flooring, cabinetry, and paint in all classrooms and interior spaces
- New desks and chairs in all classrooms and offices
- New student restrooms
- New exterior paint
- Updates fans ins all classrooms
- New wall-mounted projectors
- Chromebooks in all classrooms for student use
- iPads in all classrooms for student use (coming in November)
- Updated Macbooks and iPads for teachers
In addition to all of these amazing updates to our school, we have been provided funding for a subscription to Lexia Learning for grades TK-4. Lexia is a comprehensive, computer-based English/Language Arts program that assesses students’ current reading levels and adapts computer-based lessons to individual students’ needs. It also provides data in real time to help inform teachers’ instruction. Lexia, and the professional development training that accompanies it, is helping our teachers incorporate blended learning into their classrooms so that they can work with students in small group settings in order to provide them with individualized instruction.
We are so excited and thankful for the wonderful transformation St. Turibius has gone through this summer! Please stop by our campus to see all of these changes!
